Improving Governance and Education in Gushegu Municipality
Simba Ghana, through the I Am Aware (IAA) Project, has released a Household Citizen Satisfaction Survey Report assessing governance and education service delivery in the Gushegu Municipality.
The survey, conducted across 10 communities, reveals increased citizen participation, with 66% satisfied with their involvement in planning processes and 63% attending public meetings. However, 60% of respondents do not trust that the Assembly makes decisions in the public interest, highlighting ongoing concerns around transparency and responsiveness.
In the education sector, 91% of households have children in school, and community involvement is strong. Yet, major challenges persist, including teacher shortages (51%), poor infrastructure, and gaps in school attendance.
The report underscores the need to translate citizen engagement into real improvements in service delivery, accountability, and education infrastructure.
